This 4-day Mount Meru trek offers a scenic and well-paced climb in Arusha National Park, leading to the summit of Mount Meru (4,566m).
The extra day allows for better acclimatization, making it easier and more comfortable to reach Socialist Peak. The trek features diverse landscapes including lush rainforest, open moorland, and alpine desert, along with possible wildlife encounters along the lower slopes.
Depart from Arusha and drive to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park
Meet your trekking crew and armed ranger
Begin trekking through forest with chances to see giraffes, buffalo, monkeys, and birds
Picnic lunch en route
Continue to Miriakamba Hut (approx. 2,500m)
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: Miriakamba Hut
After breakfast, continue trekking through forest into moorland
Enjoy scenic views and changing vegetation
Arrive at Saddle Hut (approx. 3,570m)
After lunch, optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru (approx. 3,820m)
Return to Saddle Hut for dinner and overnight
